The universe is listening to you, but are you listening to the universe?
I’ve been in your shoes. I stopped for 6 months twice, and 9 months once. Sadly, I started drinking again with similar justifications as the ones you discuss. In my experience, and through lots of reading, it takes at least a year for our bodies to begin to make the changes that really show the benefits of permanent sobriety (brain chemistry, etc.).
I re-read your list of observations. The ones made while not drinking are definitive and glorious. The ones made while re-drinking are hopeful and confusing.
I think it’s great that you seem to have an open mind about your future. I’m confident you will eventually embrace the LONG-TERM benefits of sobriety. I just hope for your sake, you don’t waste as much time as I did getting there.
