You make some really good points, Tony. I agree that we can become addicted to anything that offers short-term relief from human suffering. But I do think alcohol is a problem, because like all drugs that are abused, it is powerfully dangerous and has no redeeming qualities. Unlike the other drugs that are abused, it is not just accepted, it is socially glorified. I do not call for legislation, I call for education. And honest discussions like this one are helpful to a collective understanding of addiction and the role alcohol plays. Thanks for reading, and thanks for the insightful comment, Tony!
